NHTI Concord Graduates 600+ Students at May 15 Commencement
NHTI–Concord's Community College will hold its commencement ceremony on May 15 at 10 a.m., celebrating more than 600 graduates. The outdoor event on campus will draw thousands of attendees.
Leslie Bartlett, 56, will speak as student speaker after earning her associate degree in Human Service with high honors through an entirely online program. "I wish my high school math teacher could see me now," Bartlett said. "I was humbled to be selected. I submitted my application because I just wanted to share my story and say thank you."
Amanda Grappone Osmer will deliver the keynote address. Osmer represents the fourth generation of her family to own and operate Grappone Automotive Group.
Perry Seagroves, a faculty member since 1985, will also speak. The college awarded him the Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence twice and the Yankee Small College Conference named him Coach of the Year four times. Seagroves founded the college's track and field and cross country programs.
Top areas of study include nursing, dental hygiene, and radiologic technology. Ninety-seven percent of Early Childhood Education graduates have found jobs in their field, while 24 percent of all graduates enroll in four-year programs.
