Strong Storm with 55 MPH Winds and Hail Approaches Concho, McCulloch Counties
Residents in Concho and McCulloch counties should be aware of a strong thunderstorm currently impacting the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Angelo has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective immediately until 3:45 PM CDT today, September 20, 2026.
At 2:59 PM CDT, Doppler radar detected a strong thunderstorm near Millersview, moving northeast at 10 mph. The primary hazards associated with this storm include wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea-sized hail. These conditions could lead to downed tree limbs and unsecured objects being blown around. Minor damage to vegetation from hail is also possible.
If you are outdoors in the affected areas, including Stacy, Pear Valley, Millersview, Doole, and Salt Gap, consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety. The NWS advises caution until the statement expires.
