Residents in Quitman, Clay, and Randolph counties are advised to seek shelter indoors due to a strong thunderstorm identified by Doppler radar near Cuthbert, moving south at 15 mph. This Special Weather Statement is in effect until 4:45 PM EDT today, September 20, 2026.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL, reports that the storm brings potential wind gusts up to 40 mph and half-inch hail. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is also possible.

Areas expected to be impacted include Cuthbert, Springvale Station, Watson Crossroads, Peterson Hill, Coles, White House, Moores Crossroads, Randolph Co A/p, Garnersville, Morris, Springvale, Cotton Hill, and Crossroads. If you are outdoors in these areas, please consider moving inside a building for your safety until the statement expires.
