A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, and Motley Counties in northwestern Texas. The National Weather Service in Lubbock Texas issued the warning at 7:33 PM CDT, effective immediately until 8:15 PM CDT.
Residents in these areas should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection.
At 7:32 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over McAdoo, approximately 12 miles northwest of Dickens, moving northeast at 30 mph. Radar indicates the primary hazard is 60 mph wind gusts. Impacts are expected to include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations that may be impacted include Crosbyton, Spur, Matador, Dickens, White River Lake, Dougherty, Afton, McAdoo, and Roaring Springs. This warning is issued by NWS Lubbock TX.
