Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Eastern NC Until 9 AM EDT

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for eastern North Carolina until 9:00 AM EDT today, October 2nd, with visibility under one-quarter mile, making driving conditions hazardous.

Drivers in eastern North Carolina should exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until 9:00 AM EDT today, October 2nd, and impacts Pitt, Greene, Beaufort, Duplin, Lenoir, Jones, Pamlico, Northern Craven, Southern Craven, West Carteret, East Carteret, Inland Onslow, and Coastal Onslow counties.

Visibility is reported to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous. The National Weather Service advises motorists to slow down, use their headlights and fog lights if equipped, and avoid using high-beams. Additionally, leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and others on the road.

The advisory became effective at 1:54 AM EDT and is expected to expire at 9:00 AM EDT this morning, October 2nd.
