Dense Fog Advisory Issued: Drive with Caution Until Monday Morning
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10:00 AM CDT Monday for parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, with visibility reduced to a quarter-mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions.
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for numerous counties across central, east central, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Minnesota, and northwest and west central Wisconsin. The advisory is effective immediately, beginning at 8:17 PM CDT on September 27, and will remain in effect until 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, September 28.
The National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN reports that visibility may be reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, which could create hazardous driving conditions.
Affected counties in Minnesota include: Douglas, Todd, Morrison, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Stevens, Pope, Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Isanti, Chisago, Lac Qui Parle, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Wright, Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Washington, Yellow Medicine, Renville, McLeod, Sibley, Carver, Scott, Dakota, Redwood, Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, Rice, and Goodhue.
Affected counties in Wisconsin include: Polk, Barron, Rusk, St. Croix, Pierce, Dunn, Pepin, Chippewa, and Eau Claire.
Drivers are instructed to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles.
