Residents in the Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington, Foothills of the Blue Mountains of Oregon and Washington, North Central Oregon, Kittitas Valley, and Yakima Valley are advised to take immediate action to protect sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing. A Freeze Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Pendleton, effective until 9:00 AM PDT this morning, October 13.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit are expected. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

The NWS Pendleton urges all residents in the affected areas to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Please ensure any exposed outdoor pipes are insulated or drained to prevent freezing. This warning remains in effect until 9:00 AM PDT today, October 13.
