A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Moultrie in Colquitt County, effective immediately and expiring tomorrow, October 9, 2026, at 7:15 AM UTC. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL, warns residents to prepare for hazardous conditions.

Wind speeds are forecast between 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Residents should complete property preparations now, securing loose objects like porches, awnings, and unanchored mobile homes. Expect limited damage and potential power outages.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. Anticipate an additional 3-6 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, leading to moderate flooding. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act may result in serious injury or loss of life. Rivers and tributaries may swell, and roads could become impassable. Be prepared for potential evacuations and rescues.

Furthermore, the situation is favorable for several tornadoes, some of which could be intense. Those in manufactured homes or boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued. Scattered tornadoes could cause significant damage and power loss.
