Chairman Duffy began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter with the Hagerman Fire Department in Long Island, New York, in 1981. He served there until his move to Naples in September 1985. Upon arriving in Naples, he immediately volunteered with both the East Naples and Marco Island Fire Departments, demonstrating his commitment to community safety from the outset.

Rising Through the Ranks: A Career in Southwest Florida Fire Departments

In June 1986, the City of Naples Fire Department appointed Duffy as a firefighter. He served with the City of Naples until July 1989, when he transitioned to the North Naples Fire Department. This department later became North Collier Fire Rescue in 2015. Duffy continued his dedicated service there until his retirement in June 2019.

Professional Milestones and Contributions to Fire Safety

Chairman Duffy retired as a Battalion Chief, completing 30 years of service in the fire department. Throughout his career, he achieved significant professional milestones. He holds an AS Degree in Fire Science Technology and earned certifications as a Florida State Emergency Medical Technician, Pump Operator, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II. These qualifications underscore his expertise and commitment to advancing fire safety practices.
