The Student Advisory Council (SAC) for Cocoa schools will hold meetings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year to guide school improvement and budget development. The SAC comprises parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff and business representatives from neighborhoods such as Portsmith and the historic Indian River Drive area.
Florida law requires each school to establish a SAC with a majority of members who are not district employees, ensuring balanced representation of the community. Elementary schools may not include students on their official rosters, but the law mandates an appropriately balanced number of teachers, support employees, parents and community citizens.
The council will meet on the following dates for the 2026-2027 school year: Sept. 8, 2026; Nov. 3, 2026; Feb. 23, 2027; and May 18, 2027. Meetings will be open to the public, and residents interested in participating or learning more about the school improvement plan are encouraged to attend.
