Riverbend Drone Club Wins Haywood County Competition

A two-person team from Riverbend Drone Club won first place Saturday at the Haywood County Drone Legends Elementary Competition, completing the obstacle course in 1 minute and 44 seconds.

Seven elementary schools competed in the drone race, which tested students' piloting skills and technical knowledge. Riverbend fielded multiple teams in the event.

The winning team's time topped all other competitors in the elementary division. Racers navigated their drones through obstacles while managing flight control challenges.

Riverbend Drone Club members spent the school year preparing for the competition, learning drone operation and practicing takeoffs, landings, and maneuvering through tight spaces.
