Strong Thunderstorms Impact Hamilton and Bosque Counties: Seek Shelter

Residents in Hamilton and Bosque Counties are advised to seek shelter indoors as strong thunderstorms with winds in excess of 40 mph are currently impacting the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) Fort Worth TX issued a Special Weather Statement at 3:32 PM CDT today, September 20, 2026, which remains effective until 4:15 PM CDT.

Doppler radar at 3:31 PM CDT indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Meridian to Cranfills Gap to Hamilton. These storms are moving northeast at 15 mph. The primary hazard is winds exceeding 40 mph, which could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include, but are not limited to, Clifton, Hamilton, Meridian, Laguna Park, Evant, Iredell, Cranfills Gap, Meridian State Park, Lake Whitney, Morgan, Cedar Shores, Lakewood Harbor, Norse, Shive, Kopperl, Whiteway, Aleman, Indian Gap, Womack, and Pottsville.
