At 545 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles southeast of Rangely, or 57 miles southeast of Vernal, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible.
This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Rio Blanco County.
This includes the following highways... Colorado 64 between mile markers 36 and 37. Colorado 139 between mile markers 57 and 65.
