Hendry County Donates Bus to Sterling Group Foods

Hendry County donated a STREAM bus to Sterling Group Foods, which now operates meal and wellness sites across Hendry and Glades counties.

County Commissioner Emma Byrd and Hendry County Transit staff presented the bus to the organization, which will use it to transport seniors to nutritional and wellness programs in LaBelle, Clewiston, and Moore Haven. Sterling Group Foods operates meal sites where seniors gather for meals and health activities, and delivers meals to homebound residents.

The bus expands transportation options for elderly residents in rural areas who lack personal vehicles or family assistance to reach services.
