Colleen A. Quinn, 69 of Pittsfield, passed away May 20, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer.She was born in Pittsfield on October 2, 1956 to Lillian J. Wilson Quinn and the late John J. Quinn, Sr.Colleen was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1975 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She graduated from Berkshire Community College with her Associates in Fine Arts; UMASS with a Bachelor of Fine Arts; and received two Master's degrees in Fine Arts from SUNY Albany. She also attended a European Summer Art Program in France and a Greek Book Art Program in Greece.She was a beloved art teacher for many years at Pittsfield High School. She also had taught at Berkshire Community College and SUNY Albany. Colleen received many awards over her years in school and in teaching.Colleen was a bright light who deeply loved her mother, father, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and her many colleagues, students and friends. She was an avid runner and was a gifted artist, especially in photography, painting and clay.Colleen leaves behind her beloved mother, Lillian Quinn; siblings, her sisters, Kathleen Quinn, Tammy Quinn & Sheila Quinn Niedeck (Tod) and her brother, John Jack Quinn, Jr., (Cathy). Nephews and nieces, Daniel (Gisela) & Timothy Kearns (Allison), Caitlin Quinn, Dempsey Quinn (Julia) Brodie Quinn (Ellie), Adam Twiss (Chantal), John Twiss, Bom Bee Lahart, Linden & Leigh Niedeck. Her great nieces and nephews, Paige (Anthony), Quinn, Kydd & Zachary Kearns, Scarlett, Elijah and Cora Twiss, Reidy, Rory and Casey Quinn and Hartford Quinn Lizotte, Ripp Michael Lizotte.Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Quinn.FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Calling hours will be held, Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 414 North St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Boys and Girls Club of the Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
