The BOAA, a volunteer board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, reviews nonconforming use modifications and variance requests for issues such as setback reductions, lot area reductions, and parking requirement reductions. They also consider requests for type 2 uses, which are specific uses that may not be appropriate without restriction within a particular zoning district.
