Belleair Expands Recreation with Dimmitt Community Center, Seeks Resident Input via 2026 Survey

Belleair residents now have more recreational opportunities available through the Belleair Parks and Recreation Department, which has expanded its program variety for all ages. The department, serving Belleair and Pinellas County since the mid-1960s, continues to be a central hub for community activities.

A significant addition to the town's recreational infrastructure is the Dimmitt Community Center. This 14,000-square-foot multipurpose facility opened in October 2006, providing a dedicated space for existing recreational programs and accommodating future activities. Its establishment aimed to better serve the community's evolving recreational needs.

The Dimmitt Community Center features a range of amenities designed to support diverse interests. These include indoor basketball courts, indoor volleyball courts, and indoor pickleball courts. The center also offers a multipurpose room, a Pilates studio, a full kitchen, a large game room, and office space, making it a versatile venue for various community functions.

To ensure programs meet resident expectations, the town is conducting a 2026 Recreation Community Survey. This survey allows residents to provide feedback and help shape future recreational offerings.
