CITY OF NEW SMYRNA BEACH IS SEEKING A RECORDS & RESEARCH SPEICALIST | HOURLY RATE: $27.2840 | 210 SAMS AVE, NSB FL 32168About the Job:The Records & Research Specialist supports the City’s active, continuing, and compliant records management program by managing public records throughout their lifecycle—creation, use, maintenance, retention, preservation, and lawful disposition. The Records & Research Specialist ensures City records are accessible, legally compliant, and properly preserved in accordance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and nationally recognized records management standards promoted by the Florida Records Management Association (FRMA).What We're Looking For:High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years’ experience in records management, public administration, or administrative support involving official recordkeeping, preferable in a Florida local government environment; or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Knowledge of records management principles, records retention requirements, and methods for recording and maintaining official meeting minutes. Knowledge of Florida Public Records Law (Chapter 119, F.S.), records retention laws (Chapter 257, F.S.), and Florida Administrative Code 1B-26.
