Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Clay, KS Expires; Gusty Winds Possible

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning previously issued for Clay, Kansas, has expired as of 7:30 PM CDT on September 19. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka, Kansas, reported that the storm which prompted the warning has weakened and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.

While the severe threat has passed, residents in Clay County should be aware that gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for north central, northeastern, and east central Kansas until 11:00 PM CDT tonight. This means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop.
