Lamar Hires Jackson Guerra as Head Football Coach

The Lamar School Board hired Jackson Guerra as head football coach during a special meeting Wednesday, April 15. The board voted unanimously to approve the hire.
Guerra spent the past season as defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach at Dardanelle High School, where the Sand Lizards finished 14-1 and placed second in the 4A state playoffs. He previously coached at Russellville High School and Ouachita Baptist University, where he helped the program compile a 21-4 record, win two conference championships, and reach two national playoffs.
Guerra replaces Josh Jones, who resigned after 14 seasons to take a position at Dover. Guerra signed his contract Thursday, April 16.
