Extreme Heat Warning for San Diego Inland Valleys Through Thursday
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for San Diego County Inland Valleys through Thursday, with dangerously hot temperatures expected up to 103 degrees Fahrenheit and warm nights; residents are advised to stay hydrated, cool, and check on vulnerable individuals.
San Diego County Inland Valleys are under an Extreme Heat Warning effective immediately, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA. This warning is in effect from October 4 at 9:10 PM PDT until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Residents can expect dangerously hot conditions, with high temperatures ranging from the mid-90s to 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights will offer little relief, with low temperatures only dropping into the low to mid-70s.
The NWS advises that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. To mitigate risks, residents should:
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay in an air-conditioned room.
- Stay out of the sun.
- Check up on relatives and neighbors.
It is critical to remember that young children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly.
