A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Little Belt and Highwood Mountains and the Elkhorn and Boulder Mountains, effective from Saturday, October 10th at 6:00 PM MDT until Monday, October 12th at 6:00 AM MDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) Great Falls MT has issued this warning, urging residents and travelers to prepare for severe winter conditions.

Heavy snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected in the affected areas. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph, potentially leading to difficult travel conditions and isolated power outages. The NWS advises that gusty winds combined with the wet and heavy nature of the snow could cause tree branches to fall.

Travel could become very difficult. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, please call 511.
