Strong Storm Warning: 40 MPH Winds, Hail, Localized Flooding Expected

Residents in Cherokee, Union, Northern Spartanburg, and Southern Spartanburg counties are advised to secure outdoor objects and prepare for potential minor hail damage as a strong thunderstorm approaches. The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg SC issued a Special Weather Statement at 11:17 PM EDT on September 21, indicating expected wind gusts up to 40 mph and half-inch hail.

The storm, tracked by Doppler radar at 11:17 PM EDT, was located 7 miles southwest of Gaffney, near Cowpens, and is moving southwest at 10 mph. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs, and minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations potentially impacted include Spartanburg, Boiling Springs SC, Woodruff, Duncan, Lyman, Pacolet, Cowpens, Wellford, Inman, and Mayo.
