Russian Missile Attack Targets Kyiv, Kills 20

Kyiv experienced a Russian missile attack that resulted in 20 deaths. Ukrainian authorities reported that debris from intercepted missiles caused fires and damage across the capital.

In turn, Ukrainian forces continued to conduct drone strikes on oil processing and storage facilities within Russia. These attacks have affected multiple sites, including the Lukoil-owned Volgograd oil refinery, one of Russia's largest.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian missile defenses intercepted a portion of the incoming projectiles. Officials noted that some missiles struck residential areas and infrastructure.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed its forces carried out missile strikes against Ukrainian military industrial targets. These actions followed reports of Ukrainian drone activity over Russian territory.
