Patchy Dense Fog to Impact North Georgia Commutes This Morning
Patchy dense fog will reduce visibility to less than one mile in parts of north Georgia this morning, impacting commutes until after 10:00 AM EDT. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distance.
Drivers in north Georgia are advised to exercise caution this morning due to patchy dense fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective immediately, warning of reduced visibilities in several counties.
The affected areas include Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Chattooga, Gordon, Pickens, Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Polk, Paulding, and Cobb counties. The NWS reports that some areas will experience visibilities of less than one mile.
The fog is expected to lift after 10:00 AM EDT today, October 13. Until then, motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra distance between their vehicle and others on the road.
