EPB Buries Power Lines Underground in Lakesite

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

EPB contractor ULSC will begin burying power lines underground in Lakesite within weeks as part of the utility's Resilience Project to improve electric reliability.

Crews have already started boring work in non-road areas. The project will require road cuts at various locations, and EPB will announce specific road closures as work progresses.

Affected properties include addresses on Thrasher Trail, Lyons Lane, Love Lane, Hunt Heights Drive, and Lakewood Circle: 9414 Thrasher Trail, 2506 Lyons Lane, 2524 Love Lane, property between 2505 and 2519 Love Lane, 2417 Hunt Heights Drive, and 9232 Lakewood Circle. EPB has notified all affected property owners.

Underground lines reduce outages caused by falling trees, ice accumulation, and high winds that damage overhead systems.

Residents should expect construction activity and traffic disruptions as work progresses.
