Residents in Baker, Inland Nassau, Northeastern Charlton, Southern Ware, and Western Charlton counties should seek immediate shelter due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Jacksonville FL.

A strong thunderstorm, capable of producing landspouts and wind gusts up to 50 mph, was detected by radar at 3:56 PM EDT near St. George, moving northeast at 25 mph. This alert is effective until 4:30 PM EDT today, October 10, 2026.

Potential impacts include minor damage to outdoor objects, downed tree limbs, and blowing unsecured items. Heavy rainfall could lead to minor localized flooding. Excessive cloud-to-ground lightning is also occurring. Locations impacted include Hilliard, Folkston, Callahan, and St. George.

If outdoors, immediately seek shelter inside a sturdy building or vehicle. Do not drive through flooded roadways. Remember, lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
