A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Central Virginia Blue Ridge areas, effective from 2 AM to 11 AM EDT Sunday, October 11.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Baltimore MD/Washington DC issued the advisory at 10:32 PM EDT on October 10. Residents in these areas should prepare for east winds of 20 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph.

These strong winds are expected to blow around unsecured objects. There is also a risk of tree limbs being blown down, which could lead to power outages. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Extra caution is recommended for all drivers during this period.
