Edgewater Drive Lane Closure: Fiber Installation Starts Monday

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Eastbound traffic on Edgewater Drive will face a lane closure beginning Monday, September 28, for underground fiber installation. Lumos Fiber crews will close the right lane between Beeney Road and Gardner Drive daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Thursday, October 1.
Drivers traveling this route, including those heading to or from Port Charlotte, should expect delays and allow extra travel time. The Public Works Department asks motorists to remain alert and exercise caution in the construction zone.
The temporary closure allows Lumos Fiber to safely install new underground fiber optic cable. This work is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to enhance internet connectivity across the county.
