B-52 Bomber Crashes at Edwards Air Force Base; Eight Dead
A U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress crashed at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California, killing eight people aboard the aircraft. The bomber went down shortly after takeoff.
