Mosquito control spraying scheduled for next week
St. Bernard Parish Mosquito Control will conduct spraying operations across various neighborhoods from May 13th to May 17th. Residents should keep pets indoors and cover water sources.

LOUISIANA OLD GOVERNOR’S MANSION TO HOST JAY DARDENNE’S LOUISIANA FILMMAKING PRESENTATION Back to Newsroom LOUISIANA OLD GOVERNOR’S MANSION TO HOST JAY DARDENNE’S LOUISIANA FILMMAKING PRESENTATION October 07, 2026 BATON ROUGE, La. — The Old Governor's Mansion will host “Bayou Bijou: Movies Made in Louisiana” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15. The presentation, given by former Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, will outline fifty movies filmed in Louisiana and the industry’s evolution in the state. This is the third in Dardenne’s four-part series outlining Louisiana cultural and political history. Admission is free and a reception will immediately follow the presentation. Dardenne served for eight years as the Commissioner of Administration, the state’s chief operating officer and budget architect. He was previously elected twice as Lieutenant Governor, twice as Secretary of State, served for 15 years in the Louisiana State Senate, and spent three years as an East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman. The Old Governor’s Mansion, along with the Secretary of State’s eight other museums, brings Louisiana's stories and people to life through exhibitions and educational programming. Admission is free, and the museum is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 to 4 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
