Former Rosemead Councilmember William Alarcon Dies at 73

William Alarcon, a former Rosemead City councilmember who served two decades in public office, died Dec. 7. He was 73.
Alarcon served on the City Council from 2003 to 2005 and again from 2011 to 2018. Before his council terms, he sat on the city's Traffic Commission and Planning Commission, where he shaped growth and development decisions.
A graduate of Don Bosco Technical Institute and USC, Alarcon brought civic experience to his work in Rosemead, located 11 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. He died surrounded by family.
The City Council and staff offered condolences to the Alarcon family.
