Casper Police Return to Black and White Patrol Vehicles

Staff Writer
June 12, 2026

The Casper Police Department has begun deploying black and white patrol vehicles this month, replacing the varied colors that marked its fleet for the past two decades.

The department replaces roughly 10 percent of its fleet annually as vehicles age or require major repairs. Chief Shane Chaney said the uniform black and white design improves visibility and consistency as the transition continues over several years.

"The design represents professionalism and visibility," Chaney said. "Over time, residents will see more of these vehicles throughout the community."

The department assigns each sworn officer one patrol car under a one-to-one vehicle program that promotes accountability, ensures regular maintenance, and keeps cars ready for emergency response.

Casper police source new vehicles from Greiner Ford of Casper, Communication Technologies Inc., and Shirts and More Inc.
