Two Long Beach High School Students Named My Brother's Keeper Fellows

Kyran Briggs and Zackary Gause, students at Long Beach High School, were inducted as My Brother's Keeper Fellows at a statewide conference in Albany last week. The program connects New York students in leadership development and community service.

Briggs and Gause attended the conference with classmates Jaron Burns and Maurice Dupree. Education Commissioner Dr. Betty Rosa recognized the inductees during the ceremony, joined by state officials including Speaker of the Assembly Carl E. Heastie.

As Fellows, Briggs and Gause will complete leadership training and service projects throughout the year. The My Brother's Keeper initiative, funded through a state grant, aims to close opportunity gaps and prepare young people for college and career success.
