A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Phoenix, Arizona, effective immediately until 5:00 PM MST this afternoon, October 11, 2026. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially those driving high-profile vehicles.

Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 mph. This advisory impacts a significant portion of south-central Arizona, including the Aguila Valley, Northwest Valley, Tonopah Desert, Gila Bend, Buckeye/Avondale, Cave Creek/New River, Deer Valley, Central Phoenix, North Phoenix/Glendale, New River Mesa, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley, Rio Verde/Salt River, East Valley, Fountain Hills/East Mesa, South Mountain/Ahwatukee, Southeast Valley/Queen Creek, Superior, Northwest Pinal County, West Pinal County, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, Tonto Basin, Mazatzal Mountains, Pinal/Superstition Mountains, Sonoran Desert National Monument, San Carlos, Dripping Springs, Globe/Miami, and Southeast Gila County.

The NWS warns that these conditions can make driving difficult, particularly for larger vehicles navigating crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects outdoors may become airborne. Additionally, strong winds in desert areas could temporarily reduce visibility to under a mile due to blowing dust or sand. Drivers are urged to use extra caution.
