Macoupin County Clerk Launches Election University Videos
Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan launched a video series to explain how elections work in the county.
The Macoupin County Election University features five- to ten-minute videos covering voter registration, ballot access, polling place procedures, vote counting, and result verification. Duncan plans future episodes on poll worker duties, equipment testing, mail-in voting, and post-election audits.
"Most voters only see elections on Election Day, but there are months of preparation that happen behind the scenes before a single ballot is cast," Duncan said. "Election University is designed to give the public a closer look at how elections work in Macoupin County and help answer some of the most common questions we receive."
The first episode, "Welcome to Macoupin County Election University," introduces the series and provides an overview of local election administration. Duncan said the short format makes election information accessible and builds public confidence in the system.
Residents can watch episodes on the Macoupin County Clerk's Facebook page and YouTube channel, or visit MacoupinVotes.gov. New episodes will be released periodically.
