Lake Ontario Harbor Dredging Push | Niagara County

Niagara County Legislator Dave Godfrey and Orleans County Legislature Chairman Lynne Johnson called for dredging Lake Ontario's recreational harbors at a Great Lakes Shallow Harbor Draft Stakeholders meeting led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last week.

Godfrey and Johnson argued that maintaining navigable depths is essential to the region's economy. Shallow harbors limit boating activity and reduce spending at local businesses and tourism operators that depend on recreational traffic.
