Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Fremont, Pueblo Counties Until 10:45 PM MDT

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for parts of Fremont and Pueblo Counties until 10:45 PM MDT, bringing hazards of 60 mph winds and half-dollar-sized hail; residents should seek immediate shelter indoors.

Residents in east-central Fremont County and northwestern Pueblo County must take immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

The warning is in effect until 10:45 PM MDT tonight, September 20. At 10:12 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Penrose, approximately 21 miles northwest of Pueblo, moving east at 15 mph.

The primary hazards associated with this storm are 60 mph wind gusts and half-dollar-sized hail. The National Weather Service warns that hail damage to vehicles is expected, and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible.

Locations impacted include Penrose. For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Stay indoors until the warning expires.
