Jefferson County Permit Submissions Now Online

Staff Writer
May 15, 2026

Jefferson County's Planning and Zoning department now requires residents and developers to submit nine permit types through an online system, while other applications go by email.

Applicants must use the Online Application System for Building Permits, Defensible Space Permits, Floodplain Permits, Land Disturbance Permits, Minor Adjustments, Preliminary and Final Plats, Pre-Applications, Rezoning Applications, Short-Term Rentals, and Site Development Plans. The department will not accept paper or email submissions for these categories.

For all other permit types, applicants should email documents directly to Planning and Zoning. More information is available on the department's Online Applications Page.
