A Wind Advisory has been issued for coastal areas of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, effective immediately until 8:00 PM EDT this evening, October 9. The National Weather Service (NWS) Jacksonville FL reports east winds are expected to reach 20 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially hitting 40 mph.
Affected areas include Florida's Coastal Duval, Coastal Nassau, Northeast Coastal St. Johns, Northern Inland St. Johns, and Southeast Coastal St. Johns Counties. In Georgia, Coastal Camden and Coastal Glynn Counties are included in the advisory.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and a few power outages occurring. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to use extra caution when traveling.
