2026 DOG LICENSES (Available effective 12/1/2025) In Pennsylvania, all dogs must be licensed at the point of purchase or adoption (earliest is 8 weeks of age) and by 3 months if no transfer of ownership has occurred. All dogs that do not have a lifetime license must be licensed by January 1st of each year.Keep your dog safe and protect your wallet. A dog license costs far less than the $500.00 fine plus court costs you could face as the dog owner for not having one. Licensing brings lost pets home faster. A license is easier to spot.
