Indianapolis, IN – A new experimental drug combination, EloraTZP, developed by Eli Lilly, yielded greater weight loss and better blood sugar control than tirzepatide 15 mg alone in adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Researchers presented these findings from a 48-week Phase 2b study.

Participants receiving EloraTZP experienced an average weight loss of up to 54.1 pounds, representing a 23.3% reduction from their initial weight. In comparison, individuals on tirzepatide 15 mg lost an average of 34.4 pounds, a 14.8% reduction.

The study also showed EloraTZP's effectiveness in improving glycemic control. Participants using EloraTZP reduced their A1C levels by up to an average of 2.9%. Those in the tirzepatide 15 mg group saw an average A1C reduction of 2.4%.
