West Linger Longer Road Sediment Reduction ProjectThe West Linger Longer Road Sediment Reduction project is located in the Bear Creek- Deer Point Lake Watershed approximately 11 miles north of Panama City in Bay County, Florida (N30.415 W85.447). This project is funded in part by a Section 319 Nonpoint Source Management Program implementation grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through an agreement/contract with the Nonpoint Source Management Section of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.To reduce sediment impacts to the Bear Creek-Deer Point Lake Watershed, the existing 1.71 miles of dirt roadway for West Linger Longer Road will by stabilized with open grade pervious asphalt. In addition, the project will include an addition of adequate roadside shoulders and swales for the treatment and conveyance of stormwater runoff.Project GoalsImprove water quality into Bear Creek-Deer Point Lake Watershed.Stabilize approximately 1.71 miles of existing dirt roadway.Provide a high level of customer service and communication to the public.Project TimelineThe project survey, design, permitting and construction is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2025. This project is funded in part by a Section 319 Nonpoint Source Management Program implementation grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through an agreement/contract with the Nonpoint Source Management Section of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.To reduce sediment impacts to the Econfina Creek Watershed, the existing County Line Road dirt roadbed for approximately 1.6 miles will by stabilized with open grade pervious asphalt.
