Celebrity Chef to Share Cooking Tips for Restricted Diets at AAKP Event
Dallas, TX (October 6, 2014) – Celebrity Chef Kent Rollins will share cooking tips and demonstrate how to make healthy meals on a restricted diet at the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) 2014 National Patient Meeting in Dallas, Texas, October 10-12. The cowboy cook and runner-up on Food Network’s “Chopped” is known for creating simple yet delicious meals with minimal ingredients. Patients on dialysis or with chronic kidney disease (CKD) often face numerous dietary restrictions, including limiting sodium, phosphorus and potassium. Rollins’ recipes will give patients the confidence to create healthy and delicious meals they can enjoy.
Chef Rollins will be on hand Saturday, October 11 at 2:30 p.m. to share ideas and demonstrate several of his favorite recipes. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample his creations. The AAKP National Patient Meeting is the largest kidney patient meeting in the U.S. and provides patients and their families with information and resources to better manage their health and live longer, more productive lives.
“We are thrilled to have Chef Rollins join us at our National Patient Meeting,” said AAKP President Paul T. Conway. “His expertise in creating delicious and nutritious meals with minimal ingredients will be invaluable to our patients who often struggle with dietary restrictions.”
