Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Southeastern Midlands Until Friday 10 AM
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties, effective from 3 AM to 10 AM EDT Friday, October 2, with visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less.
Drivers in Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Central Orangeburg, Clarendon, Northwestern Orangeburg, and Southeastern Orangeburg Counties are advised to exercise extreme caution tonight and early Friday morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Columbia SC.
The advisory is in effect from 3 AM to 10 AM EDT on Friday, October 2. Visibility is expected to be one quarter mile or less, making driving conditions hazardous. Areas near bodies of water are particularly susceptible to dense fog.
The NWS advises motorists to slow down, use their headlights, and leave ample distance between their vehicle and others. The Dense Fog Advisory may be expanded further north and west towards daybreak if current trends persist. This advisory was issued on October 1 at 7:52 PM EDT.
