A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Calhoun County, effective immediately as of October 9, 2026, at 5:17 AM EDT, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee. Residents in Morgan are specifically impacted and should complete all preparations before hazardous winds begin.

The NWS forecasts peak winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, with the potential for winds reaching 39 to 57 mph. Limited damage to property such as porches and sheds is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are expected, especially on elevated roadways.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain anticipated, leading to potential moderate flooding. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and some structures could experience flooding. Several roads and bridges may close. Residents should heed all flood watches and warnings.

The situation is favorable for several tornadoes, with a few possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued. This alert expires at 1:30 PM UTC today.
