A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Calhoun County, effective immediately, by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, FL. This warning will remain in effect until 10:15 AM UTC on October 10, 2026.
Residents, especially those in the Morgan area, should prepare for hazardous wind, major flooding rain, and the potential for several tornadoes. Emergency plans should be in place.
Wind: Expect winds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with a potential for wind speeds between 39 to 57 mph. Complete all property protection efforts now and move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Limited impacts include potential damage to porches, awnings, unanchored mobile homes, and scattered power outages.
Flooding Rain: A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 1 inch of rainfall expected. Major flooding is possible, which may prompt evacuations and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures. Roads may become impassable.
Tornadoes: Conditions are favorable for tornadoes, with the potential for several, some possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if one is issued. Significant impacts, including considerable damage and power loss, are possible.
