Caldwell Man Dies in Head-On Crash on Simplot Boulevard

Juan Amador Lopez, 24, of Homedale, died Monday when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Kenworth commercial truck near Simplot Boulevard and Farmway Road in Caldwell.

Lopez sustained blunt force injuries at the scene, according to the Canyon County Coroner's Office. The coroner identified Lopez two days after the crash.

Authorities have not disclosed what caused Lopez's vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic or whether speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the collision. The office has not released information about the commercial truck's driver or whether anyone else was injured.
