Former President Trump Reportedly Used Decoy Aircraft During Overseas Travel

Washington D.C. – Former President Donald Trump reportedly used decoy aircraft, specifically a military C-32, on multiple occasions during his term to conceal his travel. This practice involved the C-32 flying alongside or departing from the same location as the presidential Air Force One, creating a diversion. The C-32 is a military version of a Boeing 757, smaller than Air Force One's Boeing 747.

Sources indicate the use of decoy tactics aimed to enhance the President's security by obscuring his precise location and movements from potential adversaries. The alternative flights sometimes occurred during periods of heightened international tensions.

One instance involved Trump's return from a trip to Turkey. Reports suggest a C-32 flew from Andrews Air Force Base and picked up Trump in Turkey. During this period, a separate aircraft, publicly associated with Air Force One, was also active. This specific maneuver reportedly occurred amid threats from Iran.

Officials familiar with presidential security protocols indicate that employing decoy flights is a long-standing tactic. These measures aim to protect the President by complicating efforts to track or target their travel.

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham confirmed the use of alternative aircraft for the president's security. "The White House Communications Agency employed various tactics to ensure the safety and security of the President, and those would continue if needed for any former President, or high ranking official," Grisham stated. She added that these protocols are standard practice for presidential travel.

Previous administrations also reportedly utilized similar methods. For example, during the George W. Bush administration, a separate plane carried the President's dogs, Barney and Miss Beazley, ahead of his arrival at certain locations, potentially serving a similar deceptive function.
