Canyon County Reopens Celebration Park Boat Ramp with ADA Access

Canyon County Parks reopened the Celebration Park boat ramp Friday after completing $600,000 in improvements funded partly by a $377,638 state grant.

The project added ADA-accessible parking, a new boat ramp, docks, and gangways at the Snake River access point near Melba. The site serves fishing guides, jet boat groups, law enforcement, and recreational boaters accessing the river downstream of Swan Falls Dam and within the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey Conservation Area.

"This project includes an upgraded, ADA-accessible design that will help us better meet the needs of all boat user groups," Parks Director Nicki Schwend said.

Canyon County Parks plans Phase II construction for August 2026, a $275,000 project to build erosion protection for the new facilities. The work should finish by fall. The county received a $265,540 grant for Phase II.
